Community Allotment (Plot #4)
Set up as the result of a partnership between Cutteslowe Greenhouse, Cutteslowe Allotments Association and Cutteslowe Community Larder in January 2024, Plot #4 welcomes school groups and volunteers every week to participate in community, horticultural, and ecology sessions. Our dedicated volunteers grow fruits and vegetables for the community larder throughout the year, regardless of the weather.

Nurturing Cutteslowe Pilot
Plot #4 was developed during the 'Nurturing Cutteslowe' pilot project, funded by Nature Effect CIC and the National Lottery. At weekly work parties, which were facilitated by two committed and trained volunteers, local residents cleared and tidied the plot, overhauled the polytunnels, installed a composter, fixed the shed and readied the space for the growing season!
Building a Nature Hub
In April 2024 Cutteslowe Greenhouse received a grant from Hubbub to develop both the allotment and orchard into community nature hubs. We were able to hire an Allotment Coordinator, Matthew, to lead the allotment project and expand our offer to the local community. We developed a partnership with two local schools, hosted workshops for community members, organised a picnic, and went blackberry picking.
