Volunteer with us

The Cutteslowe Greenhouse project is grown by volunteers, and there are lots of ways to get involved. The best way to keep up to date with events and opportunities is to sign up for our monthly newsletter.

    Community Orchard Work Parties

Join our monthly Community Orchard work parties!

Help us weed, clear, repair, and care for the young orchard near Cutteslowe allotments. No experience needed - just enthusiasm. Whether you’re a seasoned fruit grower or keen to learn new skills, we’d love your help.

    How to Get Involved
Join us the third Sunday every month. We operate on a drop-in basis, no sign up needed.

If you have questions or would like to join the Orchard WhatsApp group, email: volunteers@cutteslowegreenhouse.org.

    How to Find Us
The orchard is right next to the Cutteslowe allotments, down an unpaved track. Please note there are no facilities on site, the nearest toilets are by the Cutteslowe Park Kiosk.

    What to Bring
Sturdy shoes, weather-appropriate clothes, snacks and water. If you have gardening gloves and secateurs, please bring these too!

    Weekly Sessions at Plot #4

Come along to Plot #4 on the Cutteslowe allotments for our weekly sessions with our friendly Nature Hubs Coordinator, Matthew.

Help sow seeds, water plants, and tend the vegetable patches and polytunnels. Whether you’re an experienced grower or a complete beginner, there’s always plenty to do and learn. Best of all, it’s a welcoming community: we garden together, share tips, and always make time for tea and a good chat.

    How to Get Involved
Join us every Wednesday, 12–2pm. We operate on a drop-in basis, no sign up needed.

If you have questions or would like to join the Plot #4 Volunteers WhatsApp group, email: volunteers@cutteslowegreenhouse.org

    How to Find Us
The Cutteslowe Allotments are on the edge of Cutteslowe Park off the A40. There’s car parking nearby and toilets on-site.

  • A person holding a blue and white patterned plate with salad, rice, and a piece of chicken. In the background, a bowl of yellow rice and a food menu on the table are visible.

    Community Pop-up Cafes

Helping organise and run a monthly community lunch event at the Cutteslowe Community Centre, or at the bowls pavilion in Cutteslowe Park. These require anything from 5 to 20 people to run, with jobs including picking up food from the Oxford Food Hub, prepping and cooking the food, decorating the space, welcoming people, and running or supporting crafts activities.

  • View of a community craft center with a hanging sign that says "Community Craft Center, Cash Only." Inside, there are gardening supplies, wooden pallets, and a person with a hat shopping or working.

    General Events Support

Interested in supporting us in other ways? We’re looking for people with all kinds of skills, and new trustees to help guide the project. If you’d like to contribute, we’d love to hear from you.
