Volunteer with us

Cutteslowe Greenhouse is a community project, rooted in and run for local people. Whether you'd like to learn about growing food, spend time outdoors, meet neighbours, or simply enjoy a few hours gardening together, there are lots of ways to get involved.

You don't need any experience, and there's no long-term commitment — just come along when you can.

  • Sowing & Growing Club

    EVERY MONDAY 12:30PM

Spend a relaxed session gardening at the greenhouse with Horticultural Manager Matthew Harris. It's a friendly group where you can learn new skills, try new things, and enjoy working alongside others.

Together we might be sowing seeds and preparing trays, taking cuttings, potting on young plants, or simply caring for the seedlings and greenhouse plants we've been nurturing together.

    No sign up needed.

  • Greenhouse Clean-Up Days

NEXT SESSION: SATURDAY 21 MARCH, 10:30AM–12:30PM

These sessions are how we gradually restore and repair the historic greenhouses, making them a safe, beautiful and welcoming space for the whole community.

Please come prepared for a clean up day by wearing long sleeves and trousers where possible. No open toed shoes. The nearest toilets are at the park’s Pavilion. You may also want to bring water and a snack.

No sign up needed, just turn up at the greenhouses and find the lead volunteer when you arrive.

  • Community Orchard Work Parties

    THIRD SUNDAY OF EVERY MONTH

Our Community Orchard is heading into its fourth year, and these monthly sessions are how we keep it thriving. Come and help us weed, clear, repair and care for the trees, and pick up a little knowledge about fruit growing while you're at it. No experience is necessary.

    No sign up needed.

  • Allotment Sessions at Plot #4

    EVERY WEDNESDAY 12-2PM

Join us at Plot #4 on the Cutteslowe Allotments for a hands-on session tending the vegetable patches and polytunnels. Whether you're a seasoned grower or a complete beginner, there's always plenty to do and learn,  and good company along the way.

    No sign up needed.
